Year 6 went to stay on the Haybay Barge in the Heybridge Basin, Maldon, Essex from 6th to 8th July. We took part in lots of exciting activities there including caving, zip wires, high rope swing, forest walks and looking for shells and crabs on the sea shore.
On 26th May classes 1 and 2 visited St Philip’s Church as part of Faith in Schools to learn about Christening.
On 15th June the Key Stage 2 Choir performed at the Tower of London as part of the Water City Music Festival for the Queen’s 90th Birthday celebrations. Seven primary schools took part, singing songs together such as Greatest Day, Ain’t No Mountain High Enough and Pastime with Good Company (written by Henry VIII).
On 24th May, Year 3 went to the East London Buddhist Centre as part of Visit a Place of Worship. There we learned about the Buddhist religion and how it differs from other faiths.
On Tuesday 24th May, Years 5 and 6 visited the Museum of Brands as part of our topic Going Global. There we learned about different brands and how packaging has changed over time from the 1920s to the modern day.
In EYFS we have been focusing on Space and on 10th and 17th May, Nursery and Reception went on a visit to the Planetarium in Greenwich. After the presentation in the Planetarium we looked around the Royal Observatory.
From the 6th to 8th May Year 4 and 5 went to stay on the Haybay Barge which is a converted Thames barge moored in the Heybridge Basin, Maldon, Essex. We took part in lots of exciting activities there including archery, canoeing, high ropes and zip lining.
On 6th May, as a follow up to the previous Mission X, year 5 took part in “Mission X – Landing day” at Eastlea. There, we did some astronaut training; including monitoring health using blood pressure monitors and simulating low gravity using trampolines.
On 27th April, classes 3 and 4 went to visit the Natural History Museum as part of our Footprints from the Past topic.
