Friends of Grange

As part of our new school improvement, we would like to have more parental involvement and therefore we have set up a Parent Group – Friends Of Grange (FOG). Every half term meetings are held for any parents/carers to come along and have their input. As well as having your say as a parent, there are also opportunities to help the school by fundraising and setting up events.

All parents/carers & family members are welcome to join these meetings at any time throughout the school year. There will be letters and texts sent out as reminders so that you can come and join us! If you would like to know more about the FOG, please contact Mrs Khan.

If you could not join us at the FOG meeting then please take a look at the Minutes from our meeting.

Here are the Termly Minutes:

Please come along and join us next time to keep up to date on school events and fundraising.

Are you interested in becoming a parent volunteer?

We offer a parent volunteer programme here at Grange. We are looking to recruit parents for the following areas:

  • Lunch-time club assistants
  • Readers to read with selected pupils
  • Parents to help organise school events
  • Any Parents/Carers for baking, arts & crafts, cooking etc.
  • If you have any special skills that can be used to benefit the children or even the adults – Please let us know!

If you would like to register as a parent volunteer then please pick up an application form from Mrs Khan (Family Support Worker).

Volunteer Policy

Coffee Mornings

Our school runs Coffee Mornings once a month on a Friday from 9am-10am. This is a chance for parents/carers and any member of the family to come along and meet other people in the community. During our coffee mornings – parents/carers will get their chance to voice their opinions and have their voice heard! As well as this, we welcome suggestions and questions about the school and we will always try our best to get back to you with a response in the following week.

coffee-morning-oct16Our coffee mornings are informal and are a great chance for parents to discuss and also meet members of the local community and surrounding areas. Examples of things you can look forward to during our coffee mornings are:

  • E-Safety Talks
  • Visits from our Community Neighbourhood Officer
  • Visits from Newham Councillors
  • Visits from the Canning Town Library Services

If there are any services or particular topics you would like us to provide for you, please come along and let us know.
